SolarSpan insulated patio roofing (by Bondor)

Independent buyer's guide. We are not a dealer or agent for any brand.

Moreton Bay Insulated Patios is an independent referral service; quotes come from an independent, QBCC-licensed builder who services your area (how it works).

SolarSpan is Bondor's insulated roof panel, marketed as "the original" insulated patio roof. It combines a Colorbond steel roof, an EPS-FR (fire-retardant polystyrene) core and a pre-painted steel ceiling in one panel. This is an independent explainer — we are not a Bondor dealer.

SolarSpan price per m²

Bondor doesn't sell direct to homeowners at a published installed price. Installed insulated-panel patio roofs in the Brisbane market are commonly quoted around $350–$750 per m² (WhatsTheDamage, Oct 2026) — see the cost guide. The panel itself is only part of the price: beams, posts, footings, flashing, engineering, approval and electrical all add up.

Span tables

"SolarSpan span table" is a common search. Allowable spans depend on panel thickness, wind classification and how open the structure is. Ask your builder which span table and wind class their design uses — Bondor publishes residential roofing span tables on its website.

What to ask in a quote

  • Exact product, profile and panel thickness (e.g. "100 mm") and colours (top and ceiling).
  • The wind classification the design uses and who did the engineering.
  • Whether the slab/footings, certifier fees, electrical (approved downlights, fans) and gutters/downpipes are included.
  • The builder's QBCC licence number — check it on the QBCC register.
